Wireless technology is the technology for transmitting information

Wireless technology is the technology for transmitting information from one place to another without the medium of wires. This distance could be small or it could be long as thousands of miles. Initially this technique was developed for telecommunications.

It comprises of various machines like fixed phones, mobiles, two way radio, personal digital assistance, GPS etc. Basically all these equipments work on electromagnetic waves. This technique is used in our day to day life. Infact, most of our work is done by these machines for example imagine a television without remote, you will have to change the channel manually, imagine your life without emailing or without telephone. Wireless gaming, wireless mouse, keyboards are also some of the examples.

Wireless communication may be executed using three different mediums:

1. Radio frequency communication
2. Microwave communication
3. Infrared for short range applications like remote controls

Sometimes people confuse themselves with wireless and codeless wherein these two are typically different from each other. Basically, codeless devices are the devices which have the ability to operate from a portable source without any cord to limit the mobility. There are certain devices which are codeless and comes under the category of wireless like codeless phone but that is not with every codeless device.

In the last fifty years, wireless communications industry experienced drastic changes driven by many technology innovations. It was started as a magic when way back in 1880, first photo phone was invented that converted audio into modulated light beams. At that time when it was invented, there was no practical requirement because in that era electricity was also very rare. Nobody was aware that the milestone which was set at that time will be proved as a boom for the industry and there is so much scope for this. Post that era, first Radio was invented after which people came to know about the wireless technology. It was basically referred to radio receiver. From then on it is a continuous process in the evolution of the wireless technology and today also, there is lot more scope for it and scientist are very much keen to know more about the facts buried under the layer of advancement. We are still counting on the best out of Wireless technology.
